In 2024, Boeing faced significant challenges, delivering only 348 commercial aircraft. This marks the company’s lowest delivery count since the pandemic and places it well behind its main competitor, Airbus, which delivered 766 aircraft. This shortfall underscores the hurdles Boeing encountered throughout the year.

Boeing’s 2024 Deliveries

Boeing’s 2024 deliveries were notably low, with only 348 commercial aircraft delivered. This is a substantial decrease from the 528 deliveries in 2023 and significantly behind Airbus’s 766 deliveries. The decline is attributed to several factors, including production issues, quality control problems, and labor strikes.

In contrast, Airbus delivered 766 commercial aircraft in 2024, slightly below its revised target of 770. Despite facing supply chain challenges, Airbus managed to maintain a strong delivery rate, highlighting its operational resilience.

Impact on the Industry

Boeing’s reduced deliveries have broader implications for the aviation industry. Airlines relying on Boeing aircraft have faced delays, affecting their operations and financial performance. The shortage of new aircraft has also led to increased lease rates and operational challenges for carriers.

Boeing’s 2024 deliveries fell short, delivering 348 commercial aircraft, significantly behind Airbus‘s 766. This decline highlights the challenges Boeing faces in production and competition. The aviation industry will be closely watching how Boeing addresses these issues in the coming years.
