Gulfstream Aerospace experienced a significant surge in aircraft deliveries during the second quarter of 2024, achieving a 54% increase compared to the previous year.
This remarkable growth primarily stems from the strong performance of the newly certified G700.
Gulfstream’s Impressive Q2 Performance
In Q2, Gulfstream delivered 37 aircraft, including 31 large-cabin jets and six super-midsize G280s. While the G280 deliveries remained steady, the large-cabin segment saw a notable 72% increase, largely due to 11 G700 deliveries.
The G700, renowned for its cutting-edge technology and luxurious amenities, has significantly bolstered Gulfstream’s delivery numbers.

General Dynamics chairman and CEO Phebe Novakovic reported that although the company planned to deliver 15 G700s during the quarter, four deliveries were delayed due to final cabin STC approvals.
The team has now resolved these issues, and deliveries are continuing as scheduled.
Financial Performance
The aerospace division of General Dynamics, which encompasses Gulfstream and Jet Aviation, reported a 50.5% increase in revenues year-over-year, reaching $2.94 billion for the quarter.
Earnings also rose by 35%, totaling $319 million. G700 Gulfstream deliveries have contributed significantly to this growth, reflecting strong demand for Gulfstream’s aircraft, particularly in North America, with growing interest in Europe and the Middle East. Additionally, the Chinese market shows signs of revitalization.

Anticipating the G400 and G800
Gulfstream is preparing for the first flight of the G400, with expectations high for its performance in the market. Additionally, the G800, a derivative of the G700, is slated for certification between late 2024 and early 2025. These new models are expected to further enhance Gulfstream’s competitive edge in the luxury aviation market.
The Gulfstream G700
Gulfstream’s impressive second-quarter performance underscores the strength of its large-cabin jets, particularly the G700. With continued innovation and strong market demand, Gulfstream is well-positioned to achieve its annual delivery targets and expand its influence in the global aviation industry.
